Commercial Insurance

Owning a business can be rewarding, but don’t get caught off guard by unplanned losses. Commercial/business insurance is one way you can safeguard the stability and continued success of your company for years to come. Our agency works hard to provide insurance solutions that are developed and customized for the unique needs of your business. Whether you own a home business or traditional brick and mortar company, it would be wise to protect your livelihood. Here’s some information about commercial coverage.

BOP Coverage

A typical (BOP) offers a bundled policy that includes protection for property, liability and business interruption.

The property coverage protects your building (office, shop or warehouse), business equipment and inventory against common risks such as fire, theft, vandalism and damage from natural disasters.

The liability coverage protects you against injuries inflicted on others due to defective products, faulty installations and/or errors in provided services done during the normal course of business. If a customer slips on a wet floor and lands in the hospital, liability insurance protects your business assets by paying for medical costs. It may also cover legal expenses if a customer sues for damages.

The business interruption coverage compensates you for loss of income if you have to shut down your business temporarily after a catastrophe.

Additional Commercial Coverage

Depending on the nature of your business, you may need or want additional commercial coverage to include:

Worker’s Comp – If you have employees, the state of Pennsylvania requires you to have worker’s comp insurance to protect your employees and your business against injuries on the job.

Commercial Auto – If your company uses an automobile for any business purposes such as the delivery of goods, transporting clientele, etc., then you will need commercial auto coverage to help protect you against accidents on the job. Commercial auto insurance has similar coverages as personal auto insurance, and usually on a larger scale.

Special Considerations - Some of these coverages might include protection against certain crimes, spoilage of merchandise, computer equipment, mechanical breakdown, and forgery.
